Bat Education Programs
Private Programs:
We are proud to offer private, educational presentations for schools, corporate events, conferences, team building, and other private events. We tailor our talks to your audience, using a multi-media presentation to talk about the benefits of bats and how to live in harmony with these wonders of the natural world.
What’s included:
- A talk from one of our founders, Dianne Odegard or Lee MacKenzie
- A multi-media presentation (indoors only)
- An interactive Q&A
- Educational pamphlets and reading
- Optional: We can bring local bats for up-close viewing, handled by a bat professional.*
*These bats are not pets. They are non-releaseable residents of Austin Bat Refuge shown for educational purposes.
Pricing:
- For private groups and school groups under 100 people rates start at $350. Discounts are available for under-served and under-funded schools.
- For corporate events, conferences, and festivals, appearance fees start at $600. Please contact us for details.

Austin Bat Refuge is a 501(c)3 non-profit. We don’t get city, state, or federal funding for our education programs, so presentations and programs are one way we fund our rehabilitation work. Thanks for supporting us, and learning about bats!
Public Programs:
We also offer many public programs that are usually FREE to attend!
Our Congress Avenue Bridge Program has educated thousands of visitors since 2018. Find us below the south end of the bridge in the bat viewing area. We’re there almost every Friday and Saturday evening in March through October where we often have rehabilitated bats ready for release, offering the chance to see our work in action.
