These are little bats with great big personalities and a knack for ventriloquism. Bat carers know them for their ability to complain at full volume while swallowing huge quantities of mealworms at the very same time — good trick!
That, and the propensity to “skunk” intruders in their personal space, endears them to those of us with a warped sense of humeralis.
